For my first ever job, I began volunteering at my local library. I was approximately 16. When I had started my A-Levels, I worked for a few months as a cleaner. I would go to work after college.
During my undergraduate degree, I had worked with the NHS as a freelance interpreter at hospitals and GPs. I also worked with the City Council where I would interpret at different settings. Also, I worked as a tutor on the weekends since the age of 18.
After I had completed my undergraduate degree (English Lit) and my CELTA qualifications, I began teaching. I had worked in many different institutions.
Currently, I work as a qualified English teacher. Having had recently completed my PGCE, I am now an FE teacher. I am glad that I worked in many different places.
It is important to keep focused on one’s goals and ambitions. Having a work-ethic is very important 🙂
